Dr Koven began her career in 1989 practicing full scope Optometry in South Miami.  She has extensive experience in vision disorders, contact lens fitting and primary care medical disorders.  She has now joined Specs Appeal Optical, in Pinecrest, FL, to  continue to expand her abilities and provide excellent patient care. Specs Appeal is a boutique optical with experienced licensed opticians dedicated to providing exceptional service for all of your eyewear needs. Here, we have state of the art technology to better image your eyes and diagnose any eye or vision irregularities.  We use photography to capture images and diagnose common and unusual eye pathology at earlier stages.  We use OCT technology to diagnose such diseases as Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma and Optic Nerve pathology.  Dr Koven is proud to continue to provide her patients with precise prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses in a modern technology driven Optometry practice.

Dr Andrea Koven received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from Albright College in Reading, PA.   She went on to attend Pennsylvania College of Optometry (now Salus University) and specialize in studies of medical Optometry, contact lens fitting, and Pediatric Optometry.  She graduated with  a Bachelor of Science in Optics and a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1988.  She received her certification in the treatment and management of ocular disease from the International Association of Boards of Examiners in Optometry in 1988.
